The coming storm in India

As I have repeatedly said, Indians have to wage a mighty united historical people’s struggle, led by genuinely patriotic modern minded leaders, in which tremendous sacrifices will have to be made, for transformation of India from a poor, backward semi feudal, caste and communal ridden, country to a modern highly industrialised and prosperous country with our people enjoying a high standard of living and modern mindsets.

I am too old, being 77, to physically participate in this struggle, but my job is to give clarity of ideas to the Indian people, which I am doing through my fb posts, articles and speeches.

Without clarity of ideas success in this struggle will not be possible, as our people will be like a blind man groping in the dark, confused, and turning here and there, having a clear and correct direction as to the road on which they have to travel.

A study of the processes by which other nations e.g. England, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and China, which are today highly developed, achieved such a transformation from poor, backward, feudal to modern, highly developed and prosperous countries reveals that these countries had to go through fire ( turmoil, turbulence, wars, revolutions, tremendous social churning, intellectual ferment, etc ) before such transformations could take place. This is because the vested interests in the prevalent order fiercely resisted any substantial change, fearing that it would result in abolishing their interests ( as indeed it did ).

In England this fire was the civil wars of the 17th century between King and Parliament and the Glorious Revolution of 1688, in France it was the great French Revolution of 1789, in Japan it was the Meiji Restoration of 1868, in Russia it was the Russian Revolution of 1917 preceded by the First World War, and in China it was the civil wars and the Japanese invasion leading to the triumph of the Chinese Revolution in 1949.

Most Indians, including our so called educated class, do not realise that India too has to go through this fire before it is transformed into a modern, highly developed and prosperous country. Instead, like children following the Pied Piper of Hamelin, they only follow a mirage or ‘madaari’, such as Indira Gandhi who issued a clarion call ‘gharibi hatao’, as if such a call would abolish poverty in India, or Anna Hazare who proclaimed ‘bhrashtachaar hatao’, as if such a call would abolish the rampant corruption, or Modi who called for ‘vikaas’, as if such a call would result in development, and now Rahul Gandhi, who is on a Bharat Jodo Yatra, as if such a march would unite India.
It is time Indians wake up to the truth, and prepare for the coming storm.
