Be ye men of valour

Many Pakistanis who would earlier freely talk with me on WhatsApp and skype seem to have suddenly become scared, and some have even stopped communicating with me or responding to my messages.

One Pakistani Pathan who would earlier talk with me every day did not communicate with me for 4-5 days. Today morning when I tried to call him, and messaged him, he sent me this message on WhatsApp : “ Behtar hai call ya message na karen. Army Act lag raha hai, WhatsApp check ho raha hai, giraftaariyan ho rahi hain “.

I messaged back “ I cannot believe that Pathans, who did not surrender before Alexander the Great, the Mughal Empire, the British Empire, the Russians and then the Americans, who turned their land into a graveyard of invaders, are now scared of these tinpot dictators “.

Many Pakistanis are scared of the Pakistan army. They should know that an army can only fight another army, it cannot fight the masses. A tiger can kill a prey, it cannot kill a swarm of mosquitoes.

Almost 90% Pakistanis now stand solidly with Imran Khan, who is perceived as honest, as compared to the PDM leaders who are known to be a gang of dacoits ( as the Panama Papers and other material prove ). So when 200 million out of the total 220 million Pakistanis are united behind Imran Khan they need not be scared of the paper tiger, the Pakistan army.

When I learnt that many arrests of PTI leaders, workers, and supporters have taken place in Pakistan, I tweeted this sher ( paraphrasing Josh ) :

“ Mulk bhar ko qaid karna kis ke bas ki baat hai ?

PTI mein sab hain, kya do char das ki baat hai ? “

Imran Khan, the Kaptan, has become a tidal wave, before whom all King Canutes will soon be swept away.

I will conclude with the words of then British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in his speech to the House of Commons on 19th May, 1940 given in the face of the looming danger of German invasion “ Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valour, and be in readiness of the conflict, for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation, and of our altar “.
